The Two-Headed Giant format is like tandem sky-diving. As long as one player knows what is going on, the other can come along for the ride. Each two-player teams shares a starting 30 life and takes their turn simultaneously.
It's great for these groups: buddies, couples, and parent/kid combos.
Prerelease is your first opportunity to get your hands on the newest Magic: The Gathering release and explore what the set has to offer. You and your partner’s Prerelease Packs contain everything you need to build your two pre-release decks and begin facing off in epic two-on-two matches.

Event Details — Sealed Deck Tournament (Casual):
Upon entry, each participant will receive a Prerelease Kit. These kits include 6 packs and an exclusive Prerelease Promo Card, allowing you to get a sneak peek at the new set before it's officially released. And you keep all the cards!
Test your deck-building skills by constructing two 40-card decks from the contents of your and your partner’s Prerelease Kit. You'll use these decks to compete in a friendly yet competitive Sealed Deck tournament.
You’ll play 3 best-of-one matches with a 50 minute match timer. The “Swiss” tournament structure means you’ll be paired against players with the same number of wins so far each round.

Before you play…
There are a few things you need to prepare beforehand:
- This event is not a learn-to-play event. Our community is very welcoming to newer players, but we do ask that you complete the free tutorial on Magic Arena to learn the basics so you can hit the ground running!
- The Wizards Companion App (or the email address of your Wizards account). Play Arena? Great! Just use the email you signed up with!
- Your event ticket. We recommend buying in advance; we have limited space and pre-registering guarantees your seat. Can't make it? You can get a refund in store credit.
- Review our Store Code of Conduct. We want all event participants to be safe, happy, and comfortable!
Cancellations/No-Shows
- Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before the event begins. If you are late you risk forfeiting your spot to waitlisted participants.
- If after purchasing a ticket you can no longer make the event, please cancel your ticket so that we can bring someone in off the waitlist!
- Cancelled / no-show tickets will be refunded in store credit only via digital gift card minus processing fees, and forfeit all promos and prizes.
This is a 13+ event; younger players are welcome to participate if accompanied by a parent.
In order to ensure a quality event for our players, this event is otherwise exclusive to participants only; spectators and guests are not permitted.
